Dia De Muertos La Catrina/El Catrín Costume Contest

Friday November 1st – 7:30pm

ALL competitors are required to purchase a Ticket to the Festival *

A Catrina & Catrin Costume Contest is among the many community activities that will occur as part of our Dia de Muertos celebration at this years Great LV taco festival, held on November 1st. Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday which celebrates the lives of deceased loved ones. Its most famous symbol, La Catrina, is dressed elegantly with a fancy hat and is a reminder that no matter how rich or poor, no one escapes death.

To enter the contest:
•Contestants must dress up as La Catrina or El Catrín
•The contest is limited to the first 15 contestants
•Registration will take place onsite at The Great LV Taco festival before 7pm Nov 1st at information booth ..
•Anyone can enter the contest; there are no age restrictions
•Contestants will be judged on
◦Originality of costume
◦Face make-up resembling La Catrina/El Catrín
◦Headdress/Hat
•First and second place winners will receive prizes.
