Project Taco and our friends at 4OAK Events proudly present:
A place to taste and experience the rich history of agave spirits and the beautiful communities from where they are grown. Bring a friend, grab a drink, learn a thing or two. But above all, have a hell of a good time! You journey begins with one or more of the following:
CASA DE AGAVE SESSION 1: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEQUILA AND MEZCAL?
Well, there are a lot of misconceptions. Some people think mezcal is tequila’s smoky cousin. Some think tequila is made by machines and mezcal is made by hand. And others … well, they don’t know and don’t care and just want to drink. Fair enough. But if you join us for this sixty-minute tasting seminar, you’ll walk out with a basic understanding of these two Mexican spirits, as well as enough details to win a bet at a bar. The seminar is led by Lou Bank and Chava Periban, the hosts of the award-winning podcast Agave Road Trip and the team behind SACRED, a not-for-profit that helps improve quality of life in the rural Mexican communities where heritage agave spirits are made.

CASA DE AGAVE SESSION 2: BEYOND TEQUILA AND MEZCAL: AN EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY OF MEXICO’S DIVERSE SPIRITS
While most of the world is only now discovering tequila, for years you’ve had an intimate relationship with mezcal — and you want to take that relationship to the next level. Agave Road Trip hosts Lou Bank and Chava Periban take you on a 60-minute journey through the world of Mexican spirits beyond tequila and mezcal. You’ll taste raicilla, bacanora, sotol, and a selection of uncertified agave spirits, and learn about the people and the communities that make them.
